DESCRIPTION:Our original October speaker is no longer able to join us\, but we are grateful that John Collier has stepped in to share his story at our upcoming Warrior Wednesday. \nAnd what a story it is. \nFROM BEHIND THE BADGE TO BEHIND BARS TO FREEDOM IN CHRIST! \nJohn was born in Grand Rapids and went on to become a decorated Indiana State Trooper. During his law enforcement career\, he received numerous awards and commendations and was eventually assigned to the Governor’s detail. \nBut only a few years later\, John’s life looked completely different. \nA self-destructive journey led to the loss of his career\, his freedom\, and ultimately ten years inside Michigan prisons. \nIt was there\, in prison\, that John encountered the grace of Jesus Christ. \nJail Chaplain Robert “Bob” Hall led John to Christ\, and Bob and his wife\, Jamie\, would go on to mentor John for nearly a decade. Their relationship became so close that Bob and Jamie had the honor of marrying John and his wife\, Lorie\, in 2000. \nJohn’s story didn’t end when the prison doors opened. \nAfter his release\, he wrote Inside Out: A Father’s Love\, sharing honestly about childhood trauma\, his fall as a police officer\, the consequences of his choices\, and the saving grace of God that changed the direction of his life. \nHe also founded Fathers Love Ministry\, helping others find Christ-centered healing and hope. And in a beautiful picture of redemption\, John has returned again and again to the incarcerated\, sharing with others the same hope of Jesus that reached him while he was behind those walls. \nHis testimony has also been shared through Joyce Meyer Ministries and The 700 Club. \nThis is a story of consequences. A story of grace. DESCRIPTION:Warriors Set Free is honored to have Russ Taylor come share his powerful testimony in November. \nFor 22 years\, Russ Taylor served in law enforcement\, spending 12 years as a full-time SWAT officer in Grand Rapids and five years hunting violent fugitives alongside the FBI. His career placed him on the front lines of some of life’s darkest moments—and over two decades\, those moments took a toll. \nRuss experienced the realities few outside the profession ever see. Friends were wounded and killed in the line of duty. Others attempted or died by suicide. Then\, during an operation\, a close friend was murdered in front of him. \nYears of chronic trauma eventually brought Russ to a very dark place. He searched for healing and tried the resources available to him\, but nothing brought the freedom he desperately needed. \nThen\, in 2021\, Russ encountered God. \nWhat began unexpectedly became the turning point in his life. Russ discovered what he describes as the difference between man healing man and God healing man. God met him in the darkness\, began renewing his mind\, and changed the direction of his life. \nToday\, Russ’s story is more than one of surviving a demanding career or overcoming trauma. It is a testimony of what can happen when a man who has spent much of his life running toward danger finally discovers the One who can reach him in the places no one else can. \nAt Warrior Wednesday\, Russ will share his journey from service and sacrifice\, through trauma and darkness\, to the healing\, hope\, and transformation he found in God. \nFREE!
